Make a Difference Movie

I just watched this short movie and it certainly reinforces the work we are doing at Evergreen, the Pine Tree Hospice Center for Grieving Children and Their Families. Erin Callaway and I will be holding another Bereavement Volunteer Facilitator Training in the Spring of 2010. Please let either of us know if you are interested in learning more about the training or the Evergreen program. YOU can make a big difference in the life of a child....Cynthia Scott

"MONTHS TO LIVE" SERIES CONTINUES IN THE NEW YORK TIMES

Over the past several months, The New York Times has published several articles in its "Months to Live" series.  The most recent two are "Hard Choice for a Comfortable Death: Sedation" and "Weighing Medical Costs of End-of-Life Care."

The articles are online at www.nytimes.com/2009/12/23/health/23ucla.html

and www.nytimes.com/2009/12/27/health/27sedation.html

In addition to the articles, there are slideshows and photographs online.  Letters to the editor  are at www.nytimes.com/2010/01/04/opinion/l04sedation.html.  To see the entire series, go to www.nytimes.com and search for "Months to Live."  NHPCO submitted a letter in response which is online at www.nhpco.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageID=6167.  (The New York Times, 12/22, 12/26, 1/4; NHPCO Website, 12/30)
