The continuing education requirements

The state requires all hospice care providers to complete continuing education annually
For DIRECT CARE Volunteers
8 hours annually to include any of the following:
1) attend any Pine Tree Hospice educational program
2) attend any volunteer training class session
3) attend any Maine Hospice Council sponsored event
4) attend any hospice workshop, educational program or webinar
5) view a video or movie (counts for length of movie)
6) read a book or view on-line resource (counts for up to 2 hours)
7) participate in PTH Team Meeting (counts for up to 4 hours)
8) successfully complete the PTH Annual Education Packet & Quiz (2 hrs)
For INDIRECT CARE Volunteers
and EVERGREEN BEREAVEMENT FACILITATORS
4 hours annually to include any of the following:
1) attend any Pine Tree Hospice educational program
2) attend any volunteer training class session
3) attend any Maine Hospice Council sponsored event
4) attend any hospice workshop, educational program or webinar
5) view a video or movie (counts for length of movie)
6) read a book or view on-line resource (counts for up to 2 hours)
7) successfully complete the PTH Annual Education Packet & Quiz
   (1-2 hrs, depending on portions completed)
